Food and Agriculture

The fundamental means of living in Iğdır is agriculture industry. When taken into consideration of the sectoral structure, it consists of production of cereals, forage plants and fruit and vegetables, husbandry and beekeeping. Even though the sector covers the 45% of the population, it constitutes the 25% of it in terms of added value. And this shows that the added value is relatively low in agriculture industry. Recently, poultry farming has been carried out with greenhouse cultivation and production under protective cover.
