Iğdır Organized Industrial Site

Manufactuing industry of Iğdır has been improving swiftly. Infrastructure in Iğdır OIS of which activities started to accelerate in 2012 is about to be completed and almost all parcels in the first stage have ben filled. The appeal of OIS is that a loading-discharging station is to be installed in OIS within the scope of Kars-Iğdır-Nakchevan railway project. Infrastructure problems in our province has been mostly overcome and it is expected for the investments to be increase within this scope. So, an exterior natural gas pipeline was installed in OIS by BOTAŞ. Interior natural gas pipeline has been planned to be completed in 2019. Also opportunities such as constructing a wall around OIS, drinking and usable water tank, canalization, security surveillance system were carried out by being supported by SERKA. 80% of the firms operating in OIS were provided with Donation Support within the scope of Financial Support Programs for SMEs.

Thanks to reasonable climate and land structure of Iğdır, agricultural-oriented industry has been improving swiftly. As the current agriculture and manufacturing based investments carrying out production in Iğdır Organized Industrial Site (OIS) and its surrounding places, firms are operating in the fields of construction materials (ready cement, dye, construction chemicals, PVC-wooden door and window, elevator, pumice concrete, etc.) plastics, metal products (garbage container, sheet metal, agriculture tools, wire), chemical materials such as detergent, machinery -equipment, food and beverages, etc. (fruit juice and fruit juice concentrate, milk, kashar cheese, ayran, cheese). Also our province is one of the important investment areas in terms of ready-made garments and confection. And various establishments have focused on the export of the products which they have produced.

OIS is consulted by several industries such as textile, corrugated cardboard and packaging, food and furniture. Apart from OIS, production of parts of 18-wheelers (trailer awning, tent), rubber coating and plastic products are produced.

Iğdır Industrial Site

The industrial site is an are which was established in 1971 and consists of 317 shops. Largely activities of auto-maintenance and repair are carried out however PVC, furniture, wood and metal works are carried out as well.

The facilities which are not located in OIS or industrial site were established with the aim of being close to the raw material resources (pumice-pumice concrete) or being close to city center (textile). The permits required for the facilities to be established within this area is provided either from municipality or special provincial administration based on the authorization.
